More about my latest EP, I Don’t Want to Pretend. What inspired me, my creative process, and a bit more about what’s behind the music.

I haven’t really talked much about my EP release back in September… mostly because a few days after putting it out, I lost my dad. It was hard to care about anything. Looking back, I think it felt pretty triggering because of the timing and complexity of what this record means to me. But I’ve been slowly coming back to it, so I thought I’d finally share a bit more with you.

This project came from a place of finally letting myself be honest. A lot of it was written during a season where I felt really quiet on the outside, but there was a lot going on internally. I’ve been thinking a lot about identity, about showing up fully, and how often we try to shape ourselves to be more acceptable to others.

The EP is about letting go of the version of yourself you think you have to be and getting closer to who you actually are.
